Bangkok (international flights can be arranged)
Upon arrival at the Bangkok airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight.
After breakfast, begin your sightseeing tour of Bangkok’s temples. Wat Traimit houses a striking 3-meter tall Golden Buddha image – a gleaming, 5-ton figure of solid gold. Wat Pho, which features the largest reclining Buddha image in Thailand, and the Chedi of the kings, is Bangkok’s oldest and largest temple. Finally there is Wat Benchamabophit, a fine modern Thai temple constructed from white Carrara marble with ornate crossbeams decorated with lacquer and gold. Overnight at your hotel. (B)
In the morning, drive to Mahachai, home to one of the biggest seafood piers in the Gulf of Thailand. Continue to Mae Klong Railway Market. Walk around the market, then ready yourself for the hectic activities of the vendors along the railway tracks. Continue to Ampawa and visit the Benjarong House and Museum. Later in the afternoon, depart on a boat trip through the scenic canals, passing coconut and fruit orchards and rural dwellings and continue along Mae Klong River to Wat Bang Kung. This interesting temple is completely embraced by the roots of a huge Banyan Tree. Return to the resort. (BL)
After breakfast, drive to the nearby floating market of Damoen Saduak, before continuing continue to Kanchanaburi. Board the local train for the exciting ride on the Death Railway. Visit Hellfire Pass Memorial Museum. Transfer to your hotel located on the Kwai River by long-tail boat. Enjoy some time of leisure. Overnight at your hotel. (BL)
After breakfast, travel to Siam, Ayutthaya. Located approximately 80 kilometers north of Bangkok, the ancient city of Ayutthaya is known as the “Venice of the East”, and it lies along the Chao Phraya River, the tributaries of which surround Ayutthaya province. Visit some of its notable temples. A further visit includes Wat Yai Chai Mongkol. Return to your hotel. (BL)
After breakfast, visit Wat Panangchoen, which contains the oldest large cast bronze Buddha image in Ayutthaya. A 40-minute boat trip on the Chao Phraya River brings you to Bang Pa In, followed by a visit of the Royal Summer palace. Continue to Bangkok. Enjoy some time of leisure in Bangkok. Overnight at your hotel. (B)
Say goodbye to Thailand and transfer to the airport for your onward flight. (B)
