Please consult with your health care provider regarding precautionary measures against diseases. For further consultation, please visit a travel clinic or your family doctor.

Q3What are the "Big Five" and where can I see them?

The “Big Five” are considered the most noteworthy animals to see in Tanzania: the lion, elephant, rhinoceros, Cape buffalo and the leopard. They were selected as the Big Five based on the difficulty in hunting them and the degree of danger involved, rather than their size. On some of your Safaris, you will be able to observe these magnificent animals in their habitats. Most can be seen in the Serengeti and other various national parks throughout the country.

Q4Can I charge my cell phone or laptop in Tanzanian standard outlets?

Wall outlets in Tanzania are Type G (BS-1363) and Type C (CEE 7/16 Europlug) and Type D (BS-546) and supply electricity at 230 volts AC / 50 Hz frequency. We recommend bringing an adapter and converter to charge your electrical equipment.

Q5When is the best time to travel to Tanzania?

The popular season is from July to the beginning of November when the country is driest. This is usually the time of the migration river crossings. The parks offer amazing wildlife game viewing as the grasses and bush are at their least dense. Generally the main rainy season, or the ‘long rains’, lasts during about March, April and May.

Q6Can I drink tap water and other drinks? And what kind of food should I avoid?

It is recommended that you solely drink bottled or boiled water, beverages from cans or sealed bottles. You should avoid fruits that you cannot peel yourself, ice in beverages, and undercooked food. It is also not recommended that you eat food from food stalls located in the streets. Also, avoid unpasteurized dairy products.
Remember: boil it, cook it, peel it or leave it.
