Itinerary

Day 1 (Sun) – Tel Aviv
Upon arrival at the airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Tel Aviv for an overnight.  

Day 2 (Mon) - Tel Aviv / Beer Sheba / Masada / Dead Sea  
Enjoy a short visit to the Negev capital. Continue via Arad to Masada. Ascend by cable car to the fortress, which was the last stronghold of the Jewish Zealots in their war against the Romans. Visit the excavations, Herod’s palaces, the synagogue, bathhouse, etc.  Enjoy the breathtaking view of the Roman camps and the Dead Sea. Descend for a possible “float” in the in the salty water of the world’s lowest place. Via Ein Gedi & Kalya, proceed to Jerusalem for overnight. (B)

Day 3 (Tue) - Jerusalem (New City)
Drive to Mt. Scopus for a panoramic view of Jerusalem. Continue on to the Garden of Gethsemane and Church of the Agony. Continue to Israel Museum’s Shrine of the Book with the famous Dead Sea scrolls, then a visit to the beautifully renovated Model of the Herodian city of Jerusalem, dating back to the time of the Second Temple. Continue to Yad Vashem (the memorial to the six million Jews who were killed in the Holocaust.)In the Afternoon, visit the Hadassah medical center’s synagogue, with Marc Chagall stained glass windows.  Via Ein Karem (the birth place of John the Baptist). Return to Hotel. (B)

Day 4 (Wed) - Jerusalem (Old City) / Bethlehem

Walk through one of the Gates to the walled Old City: the renewed Jewish Quarter; the Western Wall, the Temple area; the colorful bazaars; Via Dolorosa and the stations of the cross ending at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Drive to Mt. Zion and visit the tomb of King David, the Room of the Last Supper and Dormition Abbey.  In the afternoon, continue to Bethlehem to visit the Church of the Nativity and return to Jerusalem for overnight. (B)

Day 5 (Thu) – Beit Shean / Tiberias / Galilee
Leave Jerusalem, and drive north via Jericho, the oldest city in the world. Continue through Jordan Valley and the new settlements to Beit Shean. Visit the excavations of this beautiful preserved Roman City.  Proceed to Tiberias, the old center of Jewish learning. Drive along the shores of the Sea of Galilee to Capernaum, to visit the ruins of the ancient synagogue. Continue to a Kibbutz Hotel for overnight. (B)

Day 6 (Fri) - Upper Galilee and Golan Heights / Nazareth
Drive to the Golan Heights. Visit the former Syrian fortifications, and the Druze villages, Via Banias, source of the Jordan River. Proceed via the Hula Valley to Safed, city of the Kabala, to visit a synagogue and the artists’ colony and then to Nazareth to visit the Christian Holy Sites. Return to the Kibbutz Hotel for overnight. (B)

Day 7 (Sat) – Acre / Haifa / Tel Aviv

After Breakfast, drive west to Acre for a visit of the old, famous Crusader stronghold and medieval fortifications. Continue to Haifa, sightseeing tour of Haifa, including the Bahai Shrine, Persian Garden and Mount Carmel for a panoramic view of the city and the bay. Proceed along the coast to Caesarea to visit the Roman Theater and the Crusader fortress. End the day with a short city tour of Tel Aviv and Jaffa. Overnight at your hotel. (B)

Day 8 (Sun) – Tel Aviv / Amman

In the morning, drive across the border to begin your visit in Jordan. Upon arrival in Amman, you will be met by our representative and transferred to your hotel for overnight. (B)

Day 9 (Mon) – Amman / Dead Sea
Today you will visit the Dead Sea – the lowest spot on earth. Enjoy some time relaxing in the salty therapeutic waters. Return to Amman for your overnight. (B)

Day 10 (Tue) – Amman / Jerash / Um Qais / Pella / Amman
Today you will start your sightseeing tour of Jerash, the most beautiful and preserved Roman city in existence. Continue driving north to Um Qais, the ancient Greco Roman City of Gadara, with its panoramic view of Lake Tiberias and the Jordan Valley. Return to Amman and overnight at your hotel. (B)

Day 11 (Wed) – Madaba / Mt. Nebo / Kerak / Petra

After breakfast, you will take the Ancient Silk Road. Stop in Madaba, home of the most famous Byzantine Mosaic map of the Holy Places of the Biblical world. Continue to Mt. Nebo with its spectacular view of the Holy Land. Then to Kerak to visit the Crusader Castle form the 12th century. Proceed to Petra for overnight. (B)

Day 12 (Thu) – Petra

After breakfast, enjoy sightseeing of Petra’s unique city: Red-Rose City. Start at the gate and make your way through the Siq to reach this city, built by the Arab Nabateans who carved their monumental tombs, palaces, temples and treasury (Al -Khazaneh) from the desert rocks sandstone in its natural hues of rose and gold. Overnight at your hotel in Petra. (B)

Day 13 (Fri) – Petra / Wadi Rum / Amman
After breakfast, continue your journey to Wadi Rum – the largest and most magnificent of the Jordan’s landscape, valley of the moon, with sandy deserts and sandstone hills. Visit a Bedouin village where you will be taken in a jeep for a tour to explore the desert. Return to Amman through the King’s Highway. Overnight at your hotel in Amman. (B)

Day 14 (Sat) – Amman / Cairo
In the morning, transfer from your hotel to Amman Airport for your flight to Egypt. Upon arrival at Cairo Airport, you will be met by our representative assisted through formalities and transferred to your hotel. (B)

Day 15 (Sun) – Cairo
After breakfast, visit Memphis, the city of the God Ptah and the capital of the oldest kingdom in the world where the Alabaster Sphinx and the statue of Ramses II resides, Saqqara, where the famous Unas Pyramid is located, King Zoser Step Pyramid, Mastaba Tomb of TI, and the Tomb of Ptahotep. In the afternoon, you will visit the great Pyramids of Giza, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Nearby is the mysterious Sphinx, a colossal lion with a pharaoh’s head. Return to your hotel. (B)

Day 16 (Mon) – Cairo / Train
Enjoy a day of leisure in Cairo. Optional tours available. In the afternoon, board an overnight train bound for Aswan. (BD)

Day 17 (Tue) – Cairo / Aswan

Upon arrival at Aswan Train Station, transfer to your hotel and enjoy some time of leisure. Overnight at your hotel. (B)

Day 18 (Wed) – Aswan / Nile Cruise

Transfer from your hotel to board your Nile cruise. You will sail on an Egyptian felucca passing by the Elephantine Island, view the Botanical Gardens on the Kitchener Island with its exotic and rare plants and trees and the Aga Khan Mausoleum. Overnight in Aswan. (BLD)

Day 19 (Thu) – Nile Cruise
After breakfast, you will sail to Kom Ombo. Enjoy fine views of the immortal Nile until arrival for a visit to Sobek Temple, which offer beautiful murals and reliefs. Sail to Edfu where you will visit the Horus Temple, which is one of the three beautiful Ptolemaic periods. Sail through the locks of Esna and continue to Luxor where you will stay overnight. (BLD)

Day 20 (Fri) – Nile Cruise

Your sightseeing in Luxor will include the West Bank (Thebes) where there are some of the richest treasures in the world, the Tomb of Tut Ankh Amun and other royal tombs including Ramses VI in the Valley of the Kings. You will be able to visit some of these tombs as well some of the beautifully coloured tombs of the Valley of the Queens. You will continue to visit Hatshepsut’s funerary temple at Dier El Bahari and the Colossi of Memnon. After lunch, you will visit the great Luxor Temple and the magnificent Karnak Temple of Amun with its famous Hypostyle hall and the 134 huge columns, the statue of Ramses II, the Obelisk of Queen Hatshepsut and the Sacred Lake. Overnight on board the cruise in Luxor. (BLD)

Day 21 (Sat) – Luxor / Cairo

Disembark in the morning, and transfer to Luxor Airport for a short flight back to Cairo. Enjoy some time of leisure in Cairo. Overnight at your hotel. (B)

Day 22 (Mon) – Cairo
Enjoy a day of leisure in Cairo. Optional tours available. Overnight at your hotel. (B)

Day 23 (Wed) – En Route
Transfer in the morning to Cairo Airport for your return flight to Toronto. (B)
